New Moon at 19’ Aquarius 15 on Feb 8th 2016 – some Brief Notes by Margaret Gray

I slept and I dreamed that life is all joy. I woke and I saw that life is all service. I served and I saw that service is joy ― Kahlin Gibran

The planetary configurations in the sky are particularly interesting at the moment in that aside from Mars, Saturn, and Uranus, all the other planets are grouped together in three signs. Neptune, Chiron and the South Node are in Pisces. Mercury, Venus and Pluto form a stellium in Capricorn. Jupiter is conjunct the North Node in Virgo and the Moon and Sun are of course conjunct in Aquarius.  Hence we are resonating to very strong clusters of powerful planetary energies, which are activating/nudging us on a Mental (Aquarius), Emotional and Spiritual (Pisces) and Physical (Capricorn and Virgo) level.

Some meanings for these energies:

Neptune, Chiron and South Node in Pisces – releasing: old (this lifetime and past lives) patterns related to being a victim. Letting go of old grief related to losses as well as potential feelings of disconnection from source and from each other

Help comes from the planets directly opposite – Jupiter conjunct North Node in Virgo which invites us to clear old unhelpful mental patterns. They also remind us of the importance of being of service.

Meanwhile the trine/sextile by the above planets to the Mercury, Venus, Pluto stellium in Capricorn invites us to think and act with the utmost self-honesty and integrity. This is a great time to connect with our inner truth and values.

Meanwhile the strong Aquarian energy of the New Moon in Aquarius sextile Uranus in Aries and square Mars in Scorpio invites us to take innovative action for the betterment of humanity. We are likely to do this more easily by standing back from our emotions and taking an overview of the patterns we are operating from individually and collectively. Will our current way of being in the world help us to move forward into our future?

If there is anything that is festering within us, this is an ideal time to remove it with the help of the sharp surgical scalpel of Mars in Scorpio. On a personal level this may include releasing old anger, resentment, shame, guilt…Anything that has been festering within us, may come to the surface to be cleared. On a collective level institutional toxicity/corruption/lies which have been suppressed are more likely to become visible, particularly through social media.

Some tools that may help us at this time include:

  1. Breathing! As Aquarius is an Air sign, consciously breathing can support us in releasing old mental and emotional patterns, as well as helping to remove toxins from our body.
  2. Standing back and observing our thoughts – noticing the repetitive patterns, fears and anxieties that arise from beneath our surface thoughts.
  3. Engaging with our empowered truth, versus blaming others for our choices.
  4. Taking action that is based on our truth.
  5. Finding ways to be of service in the greater community.

Happy New Moon!
