Please feel free to have a look at our latest ‘Relationships and Astrology’ YouTube video on The New Moon in Scorpio

Key Planetary Energies:
This New Moon takes place in a very busy sky!
It is conjunct Mercury in Scorpio (2’ orb), trine Neptune in Pisces (2’ orb) and sextile the North Node in Virgo/trine the South Node in Pisces (4’ orb)
Meanwhile, Venus is still within less than a degree of a conjunction to Saturn in Sagittarius, which forms the apex of a tsquare to the South Node conjunct Neptune in Pisces and the North Node in Virgo. Mars in Capricorn is just 1’ past an exact square to Uranus in Aries. Jupiter is quincunx the South Node/Neptune conjunction (1’ orb) and square Pluto in Capricorn (4’ orb)

So how is this likely to affect us?

All Relationships start with the Self, so let’s first take a look at what this New Moon is likely to awaken within each of us:

New Moons represent the key point of transition in the monthly lunar cycle, which by its nature is deeply connected with our emotions. In order to embrace the new, we are first invited to surrender and release the old. In doing so, the seeds of the New Moon can be planted and tended to in the coming month.

This New Moon invites us to connect with our deepest Scorpionic emotional realms. These are the realms that lie beneath the surface in all of us individually, in our relationships and collectively. More often than not, these emotions reside in the unconscious recesses of our heart and soul. When the time is right, we get a call and if we so choose, we can journey down into the underworld like the Sumerian goddess Inanna. Tools that can help us access and connect with this realm include the imagination, dreamwork, meditation, music, art, journaling, counselling/psychotherapy, hypnosis…
The gifts that lie here include passion, self-knowledge and self-forgiveness. The requirements include the willingness to be ruthlessly truthful and bare our soul to ourselves, including facing where we have betrayed ourselves and others. There are no secrets in this realm as each step down requires us to strip ourselves of all ego based adornments. External worldly success has no place here, as we face our own truth and imperfect humanity. In surrendering our ego, we are embraced by universal compassion and unconditional love for ourselves and others.

And how might this translate in our Relationships?diving-778494_640

Over the past 4 years, with the help of the Uranus/Pluto square, relationships have been required to strip themselves bare of all that was likely to prevent either of the two individuals evolve and develop. With a better understanding that ego based connections are unlikely to function in a growthful manner in this new Relationship Paradigm, the New Moon in Scorpio invites us to explore what it is that we are now seeking in our relationships on an emotional and soul level. Are we willing to expose ourselves to each other? How vulnerable are we willing to be? Is our heart open? Do we want a soul connection with our significant other or are we content with companionship?

This weekend offers the opportunity to share our deepest thoughts, hopes and dreams with our significant other. This may bring to light issues that have previously being buried beneath the surface. Gentleness with each other, as well as communication skills such as NVC, can ensure that both feel heard. Honest heartfelt communication can move the relationship to a deeper level of soul connection and passion. 4-2
If you are not in a relationship, this is an ideal time to assess whether you would like to be in an intimate relationship and what this means to you.

Some potential questions to consider this weekend may include the following:

1. What does intimacy mean to me? What might I do to enhance this in my life?
2. How honest am I with myself about my feelings?
3. How honest am I in communicating my feelings in relationships?
4. What does love mean to me?
5. What do I do to enhance passion in my relationships?
6. Do I choose to be with a significant other who is a ‘soul connection’? Am I prepared to do the self-work involved?
