The Full Moon at 22’ Gemini 25 on Dec 13th/14th 2016 by Margaret Gray

‘When you connect to the silence within you, that is when you can make sense of the disturbance going on around you.’ ― Stephen Richards

This is our last Full Moon of 2016, so it’s a great opportunity to do a final clearing out of any baggage that we don’t want to carry into 2017! Numerology wise, 2016 is a 9 year so we are getting ready to step into a whole new nine year cycle as we embark on a No 1 year in 2017!

Key Planetary Energies today:
This Full Moon has lots of close aspects! The main ones are the sextile to Uranus in Aries and the square to Chiron in Pisces. It’s also part of a Grand trine in Air with Jupiter in Libra and Mars in Aquarius. Not forgetting the opposition to Saturn in Sagittarius of course! The two Tsquares in the sky are also very powerful. The first one has apex Chiron in Pisces square the Full Moon and the Sun/Saturn conjunction. The 2nd one has apex Mercury/Pluto in Capricorn square Uranus in Aries and Jupiter in Libra!

So how is this likely to affect us?

Full Moons in Air signs can be a little disorienting, as by their nature their influence is felt predominantly through our mental realm, resulting in a potential disconnect from our body and emotions! Rather than actually experiencing a sensation or emotion through our body and feelings, we try to make sense of them through our mind. Unless we are born with the Moon in an Air sign (Gemini, Libra or Aquarius), this isn’t likely to feel very comfortable as the Moon ideally helps us to anchor in our body. The pull towards the mental realm is additionally emphasized today by the Grand Trine in Air which expands the Full Moon Gemini energy in a very dynamic way. With Uranus in the mix, the mental energy is very high voltage and may feel quite intense for our nervous system.

So what can anchor us in this very fast swirling mental energy? The sky usually provides a balance somewhere! In this case, with Mercury the ruler of this Full Moon, about to go Retrograde in earthy Capricorn and standing next to Pluto, disciplining and structuring our mind may provide some anchoring. Writing rather than speaking is a simple way to anchor our thoughts and to create a mental framework for the most expansive possibilities. Editing what we write helps us to focus on what really matters.

It’s helpful to keep in mind that there may still be some lingering grief around. For those who are more sensitive, it may feel particularly challenging to discern how much of it is your grief and how much of it is collective grief. Clearing your energy field with sage, crystals, essential oils, meditation etc. is likely to be particularly helpful right now.

Keeping in mind that Gemini represents the duality of twins can help to find a way to balance the light and shadow sides within us that may be coming to the fore. The area of our life where this is more likely to occur is indicated by the House in our Birth chart that this Full Moon lands in.

Gemini is also associated with friendships – both old and new friends may play an important comforting and healing role in our emotional wellbeing at this time.

You are more likely to resonate with these themes if your Sun, Moon and/or Angles are between 21’ and 24’ Gemini, Sagittarius, Aries, Pisces or Virgo.

This is an ideal time to:

1. Meditate to steady the mind!
2. Write honest heartfelt letters to anyone you have unfinished business with – sending them or not is optional!
3. Take a quick journey 3 years into the future – what would you like your life to look like? Home, relationships, community, career…
