Navigating the Total Solar Eclipse on April 8, at 19° Aries 23 – exact at 1.19 EST/ 18.19 Irish & UK Time
Are you feeling the buildup to the Solar Eclipse? Do you have personal planets or angles close to 19° Aries, Libra, Capricorn, or Cancer?
Solar Eclipses take place during a New Moon, so although the light of consciousness (the Sun), is temporarily eclipsed by our unconscious (the Moon), preventing it from reaching Earth, the seeds of a new beginning are sown during this time of total temporary darkness.
The healing potential of this Eclipse is intimated by the exact conjunction to Chiron, as is the nature of the collective and personal block, or wound, that requires healing. Mercury Rx. is also within orb of the conjunction, suggesting the need for some inner, honest exploration and self-talk.
The nature of Aries is to do, achieve, go after, initiate, lead, and charge towards... The Aries Cardinal nature benefits from setting clear goals, to avoid frustration and boredom. It thrives on challenging itself to reach beyond its comfort zone, and at its best, rarely hesitates in using its courageous nature to help others, particularly in situations of perceived unfairness. Chiron in Aries describes a wound related to identity and self-empowerment. A feeling of impotence in the face of new adventures and possibilities. Healing often comes from the realization, that vulnerability does not equate to weakness, and interdependence is not the same as co-dependence.
With Mars the ruler of fiery Aries, in watery Pisces, conjunct Saturn, don’t be surprised if you are feeling more emotional than usual in the buildup to this Eclipse. Taking action on behalf of the wellbeing of others, is likely to be more effective, than doing so solely on our own behalf!
With Mercury in the mix, issues to do with siblings and friendships may also come to the fore, as we notice overlapping patterns.
With the North Node in Aries, close relationships are likely to struggle if individual freedom is curtailed, as described by Dr. Brady for this Saros Series 8 North: “Inventiveness and flashes of genius are the hallmark of this Saros Series. The individual will have intuitive leaps, insights, good ideas, visions or vivid dreams. The previous Solar Eclipses in this series were in 1916, 1934, 1952, 1970, 1988 and 2006. Depending on when you were born, it may be helpful to see if the current eclipse further develops seeds that were planted during these times! On a collective level it’s worth noting events that took place around the time of previous Eclipses. For example, 1916 is noted in Ireland for the 1916 Rising – a key moment in the fight for independence!
The other dates that are helpful to look at are April 9, 1986 and April 8 2005, when there was a total Solar Eclipse at the exact same degree – 19° Aries.
