The Mars/Uranus Conjunction on July 15th, at 26°Taurus 19.15.53 Irish time/10.53am EST

Although we are well used to this conjunction which takes place every two years, this one is different as it’s the last one in our lifetime in Earthy Taurus, so it’s likely to feel more intense!

The previous conjunction was on Aug. 2nd, 2022, at 18°Taurus. It might be helpful to look back at what was happening in your individual and relationship life at that time, but keep in mind that the planetary configurations in the sky have changed a lot, and our personal and collective circumstances are also different.

Mars awakens and ignites the energies of the planets it comes into contact with. The conjunction to Uranus rouses the natural Promethean process of awakening and enlightenment, and can create unexpected changes in Taurean aspects of our lives. These include, how and what we base our security on – relationships, finances, health, home, country, the Earth…Taurus is also concerned with values, including our sense of self-value.

We have all been in the midst of these changes since May 2018, when Uranus moved into Taurus, and they will continue until it moves into Gemini in July 2025. Mars’ function is to ignite these changes in areas of our individual and relationship life that may be stuck. This can feel a little anxiety provoking, particularly for very Earthy and/or Watery charts!

I don’t tend to work with the Fixed Stars, but it’s worth mentioning that Algol is also at 26° Taurus, adding additional intensity and depth to the conjunction. Algol is often described as being in the head of the Medusa. Traditionally described as an unpleasant energy, it’s possible that it was the Medusa’s ‘third eye’ and her power may have been seen as a threat in the patriarchal society of the time it was discovered. Notice if your clairvoyance feels more active at the moment!

The sextile to Pluto and the Moon in Scorpio also add an emotionally transformative quality to the conjunction that can either deepen relationships, or lead to some needed time apart.

Some things to consider in the days before and immediately after the conjunction:

  • It’s best to avoid confrontations and conflicts. Noticing instead what’s been triggered in us and using it to do some shadow work can be very helpful, as the apparent issue is most likely a useful mirror to our internal world.

  • For anyone feeling stuck in a relationship or other life situation, this is an ideal time to break free.

  • Soothing the nervous system through tools such as meditation, yoga, music, sound therapy etc. can help counteract the jangly energy of the conjunction.

  • Although there is an impetus and temptation to speed up and make impulsive decisions based on internal discomfort, it’s likely to be more productive to keep taking lots of deep breaths and trying our best to wait until after the conjunction, to make radical changes.

  • When the external feels somewhat shaky, it’s a great time to ground and center within.

  • Keeping in mind that we are all experiencing these energies at the same time can hopefully help us flex our patience muscles a tiny bit more!

You are more likely to resonate with this conjunction if you have planets or angles in your individual or composite chart between 23° and 28° Taurus, Scorpio, Leo or Aquarius.

May the conjunction illuminate and enlighten your path forward in all areas of your life! MG
